Description:

One of the Pirot kilims’ ornaments is named shuttle (soveljka) after a tool used in the weaving process. The kilim shows a typical disposition of a shuttle motif: a larger shuttle in the middle of the central field, and four smaller in the corners. The central field is also filled with the motif of amajlike. Inner border is filled with almonds (bademčići), while the wide border (ploča) is decorated with a hooked ornament named čendjeli. The colours used are: blue, red, green, yellow, white, brown and black.
